Would you like to help us identify suitable housing for people seeking sanctuary in Richmond? We are looking for a paid researcher to meet with local community organisations and faith groups to engage their membership and identify landlords who may be interested in letting their properties to clients of Refugees Welcome in Richmond (RWinR).

Why we need your help
A major barrier to refugee resettlement is the lack of suitable accommodation.
Richmond Council provides incentives and support for private landlords offering their properties to rent to refugee families on the government’s official Afghan and Ukraine schemes:
- Rent paid direct to landlord
- Standard Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST) agreements
- Incentive payment paid upfront
- Six weeks rent in advance
- Rent and council tax paid from the date the property becomes available
- Up to £460 towards insurance costs
- Help with furnishing property if required
- No obligations towards tenants beyond normal property maintenance
- Family supported by dedicated Caseworker and Resettlement Team
